Paul Pogba is beginning to lose the patience of some Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern, much to the delight of everyone else.

The Frenchman arrived back at the Premier League famously in the summer as the world’s most expensive footballer, but so far he hasn’t come anywhere near to demonstrating exactly why he boasted such a price tag.

He has been in the firing line of a number of critics so far this season with his ill-disciplined performances and whilst at times he has shown the ability he’s obviously got, he looks pretty hindered by how things are going at the moment.

Indeed, most of the United side are struggling themselves after seeing a humiliating 4-0 beating handed out to them by Chelsea at the weekend and Jose Mourinho needs to start getting his side in shape if they want to challenge for the title.

Some reckon, then, it’s time for Paul Pogba to get put on the bench and our landlord is one of them.

Here are THREE players that could replace him, too…

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Playing Mkhitaryan would involve Ander Herrera and, based on Mourinho’s selections so far, Marouane Fellaini playing as the two deep-lying central midfielders with the Armenian in behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Which, when you think about it, doesn’t look like the worst adjustment in the world.

Yes, Mkhitaryan hasn’t shown his Dortmund ability just yet but playing him as the number 10 would surely see him start doing that.

Michael Carrick

This is the one most United fans will be calling for and that’s certainly the case here in the Transfer Tavern.

The former Tottenham and West Ham midfielder can get on the ball and control the pace of the game like no one else in the United squad and he showed that against Fenerbahce.

Mourinho obviously has some reservations over him to explain why he’s not playing that often, but it’s time the former Chelsea boss overlooks them.

Morgan Schneiderlin

The former Southampton man hasn’t played much at all under Jose Mourinho but now could be the time to roll the dice with him.

If Mourinho decides in particularly that Michael Carrick cannot play for his side week in week out Schneiderlin is the next best option to go into that midfield and start playing the ball around.

He was class for the Saints and that doesn’t just go away.
