Time to get rid: 2 players that Bilic should chop from West Ham this January

West Ham United are having a tough old season and the Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern know it’s going to be a hard slog all the way to May.

The Hammers currently sit 13th in the Premier League table with things have being far from smooth this season as a number of big stars have failed to perform.

Our landlord has been particularly disappointed with the form of a couple of the bigger names in the squad, with the likes of Dimitri Payet and Mark Noble struggling to discover the form that saw them gain so much praise last season.

And with the division looking tighter than ever, it’s imperative that under-pressure manager Slaven Bilic has the right players at his disposal for the end of season push.

So with that in mind and armed with some advice from our slightly disgruntled United faithful in the pub, here’s two players Bilic should chop from the West Ham squad this January…

Simone Zaza

Simone Zaza has been a massive disappointment after his loan move to West Ham United this summer.

The Juventus man had arrived at the London Stadium with a decent reputation but in all the games he’s played this season, he’s still yet to score.

He’s been branded as lazy, arrogant and overrated, and it’s clear that his future does not lie at West Ham in any capacity whatsoever. Bilic should get rid as soon as possible.

Alvaro Arbeloa

Alvaro Arbeloa arrived at West Ham this summer as somewhat of a utility-man signing and he’s been seriously ineffective during his time at the club.

He made an appearance in the 5-1 loss to Arsenal when he came on as a substitute and had a poor afternoon. He just doesn’t instill that much confidence in a West Ham side that are struggling to pick up results.

Getting him off the wage bill and bringing a youth academy product into the first-team might be a better option for the Hammers right now.
