Time to look for a new club: 2 Sunderland players who should consider summer exits

Sunderland sit rock bottom in the Premier League table after another dismal showing yesterday saw them to a 4-0 home defeat.

The Mackems here in the Transfer Tavern cannot quite believe their erratic form, but are perfectly aware that relegation could well be beckoning this season for their club.

David Moyes has done plenty right, but also got plenty wrong during his spell in charge so far, and a lot of the talk at the jukebox here in the Tavern is around if Moyes will still be here in the summer to further change things.

Regardless of if Moyes is here or not, Sunderland have some players who might well want to consider moving on, for a variety of different reasons.

With this in mind, we take a look at TWO Sunderland players who should consider an exit this summer…

Jermain Defoe

Strictly on the pretense that Sunderland do end up being relegated, Defoe will need to move on.

He is simply too good for the Championship, and he keeps proving week in week out he is a top class striker at the top level.

Defoe will be hoping he can fire the club to safety, but if not, he will be looking to move on for sure.

Lamine Kone

Another player who impresses in the main for Sunderland is Kone, and like Defoe, if the club is relegated, he will almost certainly be looking to move on.

He is a commanding presence at centre half for the club, and some of his recent better performances have resulted in the club picking up some vital points.

Sunderland would love to keep Kone, but if relegation does come, there is little chance of that.
