Our Middlesbrough fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot believe how today has gone for them when they thought their club would be concentrating on planning for the weekend.
Indeed, they’ve got the small matter of playing Manchester United next time out but instead of getting ready for that and trying to avoid relegation they have moved to sack Aitor Karanka.
The man who got them promoted last season is now out of the door and it will be up to someone else to try and solve their issues – namely their poor form in front of goal.
Whoever is tasked to do that, though, will have to act quickly as things are moving very fast in this Premier League season and, according to well respected journalist Mark Douglas, there’s one man who will really fancy it:
Pardew will definitely fancy the Boro job… has been touting for Norwich recently.

Alan Pardew has been out of work since his Crystal Palace dismissal in December and our landlord isn’t sure whether he’d be that inspired, especially given how poor the Eagles were at the end of his stint.
