Following Harry Kane’s halfway-line winner against Juventus (per the Telegraph) as well as Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in Shanghai (per BBC Sport), Mauricio Pochettino’s squad have now taken another major scalp in the form of Real Madrid this pre-season.
The 2018/19 Champions League finalists progressed to the final of the Audi Cup in Munich with a 1-0 win over the La Liga giants (per BBC Sport).
Harry Kane, who captained the side as Hugo Lloris started the match on the bench, scored the only goal that sees Spurs progress to Wednesday’s final.
Of course, beating the 13-time European champions was always going to cause a big reaction, and Tottenham fans provided that on social media as supporters took to Twitter to express their delight in the north London side overcoming Real Madrid.
