Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are fuming at Gedson Fernandes after his tame penalty was saved by Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul in last night’s penalty shootout against the Canaries in the FA Cup round-of-sixteen.
The penalty miss ended up being decisive as it meant that Norwich were through to the quarter-finals, where they found out they will play the winners of tonight’s clash between Derby County and Manchester United at home in the later draw.
Many fans were not happy with the Portuguese international who also lost the ball thirteen times in the match and did not manage to register a single interception (via Sofascore). The midfielder joined the club on an 18-month loan deal in January but has not yet registered his first goal for the club (via Sofascore). That streak continued last night when he missed the penalty, and many fans were fuming at how poor the penalty was, with one fan calling it ‘the worst penalty ever’:

It’s sad to think that these young players signed on to a club that’s in shambles right now.
It should be said though that Gedson Fernandes might have just taken the worst penalty I’ve ever seen from a PL player.
