After it was announced yesterday that a host of star Tottenham players will be missing for tonight’s clash against Barcelona, fans took to Twitter to show their dissatisfaction with the club.
Dele Alli, Christian, Mousa Démbéle, Jan Vertonghen and Serge Aurier will all be missing when the Spanish giants visit Wembley, as Mauricio Pochettino’s men may be thin on the ground.
Fans have clearly directed their annoyance at the club’s transfer policy, where they failed to recruit anyone over the summer. This has already come to haunt the side, as they have been decimated by injuries already at this early stage in the season.
Some fans were also quick to highlight the nature of the injuries- hamstring and thigh- that are a by-product of an intense schedule. Given the busy World Cup that some of the players had, these injuries come as no surprise to the fans.
Meanwhile, the more optimistic fans suggested that this is the time for midfielder Érik Lamela to shine.
This is what the fans had to say:
Thank god we spent sufficiently in the summer to improve our depth of the squad. Hats off Levy

Few questions need to be asked about why quite so many muscle injuries.
