This summer has been a dry one, not only has there been very little rain in North London but the transfer drought at Tottenham is also rolling on. There are just six days left of the window and Daniel Levy is continuing to fire blanks. Meanwhile, today is Ossie Ardiles’ birthday and as the club wished him a happy birthday, the fans made the same jibe about resigning the 66-year-old.

Osvaldo Ardiles will always be remembered as one of the greats at Tottenham, the Argentine winger spent ten years with the Lillywhites between 1978 and 1988 and he scored some quite memorable goals in that time. The 66-year-old was part of Spurs 1984 UEFA Cup winning side and he was also lucky enough to be apart of the World Cup winning Argentina side of 1978.
The Argentina and Spurs legend had an amazing career and now the Spurs fans are desperate to see their club pull off a signing of a player of Ardiles’ calibre. It’s been a long time since the club signed anyone, with the last player to come in at the club being Lucas Moura back in January, however, if Levy and Mauricio Pochettino can pool together and pull off a big coup, the mood around the Tottenham fans would be fantastic.

The fans are getting desperate for signings and if they get to the end of the window without an incoming then some fans might really be calling for Ardiles to put his boots back on.
