The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been in hysterics over the news from Football Espana that Hoffenheim manager, Julian Nagelsmann has rejected the chance to become the new manager at Real Madrid. This news comes just days after Los Blancos ended their interest in Spurs’ manager, Mauricio Pochettino, despite him being their reported first choice gaffer.

Real Madrid have been incredibly successful over the last three years with Zinedine Zidane in charge. However, after one La Liga title and three Champions League wins, the Frenchman stepped down from his role at the Santiago Bernabeu, citing that he needed a new challenge. Whilst Zidane’s next role is yet to be decided, Real Madrid haven’t wasted time in searching for a new gaffer, with Pochettino, Wenger and Nagelsmann all reportedly being contacted by the Spanish giants.
Nagelsmann is one of the hottest properties in management in football’s current climate. The German has been a revelation at the club and at the age of just 30, it’s obvious that he has a bright future ahead with many trophies out there for him to win. However, for now, he’ll be continuing his career away from Madrid as he’s rejected the chance to manage them. Taking over at a club like Real Madrid is obviously a huge achievement, although it’s not without the added pressure, which a number of managers are apparently reluctant to take on.
