Tottenham fans can all be forgiven for not being aware of the name Joachim Andersen. The 22-year-old Danish central defender has been linked with a spectacular switch to North London for around £35 million, according to The Independent. However, the Lilywhites have little faith in this deal, or any deal, going through this month.

The young Sampdoria man is being lined up as a replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who is looking increasingly likely to be leaving the club over the summer for a fee of £25 million after a release clause was activated as the Belgian had a one-year extension put into his deal. It looks like the fan favourite won’t be renewing his deal, and that will see the club need to find a new defender.
That’s where Andersen comes in. The Danish defender looks set to play with Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen at international level, although so far he is yet to receive a senior call-up after making 13 appearances for the Danes’ U21 side. Standing at six foot two inches and having excellent ability on the ball, the Sampdoria man has shone in Serie A this season, making 18 appearances for the club he joined in summer 2017, and he could be set to be on the move again as Spurs look to swoop.

The Lilywhites have no faith in Daniel Levy gifting Mauricio Pochettino Andersen this month and will be looking forward to being proved right.
