If things keep going the way they are then a lot of Tottenham fans will be facing the prospect of dropping out of the top four come April. One man who has everything in his locker in terms of being able to turn that around is Christian Eriksen, yet the Dane has failed to put in a decent performance in God knows how long.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder is one of the best football players in the world when he’s on his game and at his very best, and if he wasn’t then clubs like Real Madrid wouldn’t be sniffing around for him. However, it seems that the interest in Eriksen is taking its toll on the player. Even with Dele Alli’s return the Dane wasn’t able to make a difference yesterday as the Lilywhites fell to a 2-1 defeat.
If the level of performance from Tottenham’s £76.5 million-rated midfielder, as valued on Transfermarkt, then the fans will be calling for him to be dropped. Whilst Eriksen was again poor, Lucas Moura looked bright until he was hooked yesterday afternoon and the Brazilian could easily be the ready-made Eriksen replacement in one of the three spots behind Harry Kane, even if they have very different profiles.

The Lilywhites are desperate for Eriksen to step up and will hope he can do sooner rather than later.
