There are some transfer rumours that just come along and get a whole fan base on their feet. Usually, when it comes to Tottenham fans, that’s hard to do seeing as the level of expectation is so low. However, last night saw CalcioNapoli24 break an ‘exclusive’ that claims Joe Lewis has put aside 40 million euros for Daniel Levy to use to sign Napoli’s Brazilian midfielder Allan in January.

Normally, this kind of rumour would be brushed away by Tottenham fans, who would believe the report if it claimed that Levy was going to snub Napoli’s Allan in favour of Stoke City’s Joe Allen. But no, this time a lot of Tottenham fans are getting excited. They all seem to know that this January will bring signings and why can’t it bring a marquee name with it? That is exactly what the 27-year-old would be and the Lilywhites would love to see it happen.
It just so happens that there has been a lot of interest from Italian cubs for Mousa Dembele too. If Napoli do have a particular interest in the Belgian then there’s no reason why he can’t be used as some kind of bargaining chip, which would explain why Lewis has only put aside 40 million, as if it was a cash-only deal there would be little chance of the North London club bringing in the Brazilian. A Dembele plus cash deal would work, and whilst the fans would be sad to see their midfielder go, Allan is a clear improvement.

He’s decent! Will be a good signing

This would be a good signing for us, breaks up the play and non stop running in midfield

He's an absolute gun, but as a Napoli fan also I'd be conflicted
Napoli wanted Dembele for years too FWIW though

Would be an amazing signing

This would be a smart signing, but it costs money. Levy will hard pass

Tottenham fans would do almost anything to see their side purchase Allan and it will be interesting to see whether or not Levy makes a move for the Brazilian in January.
