Tottenham fans on Twitter keen for Son to have a few weeks off

The football season is often hectic and when the World Cup has taken place in the summer there really is very little time for the top professionals to get some much-needed rest and recuperation. In the case of Heung-Min Son, it’s even worse as the plucky Tottenham man has played seven games for his country at the Asian Games and will now be thrown straight back in for international duty.

Tottenham have plenty of internationals representing their country over the next week or so and the supporters were all shocked and slightly frustrated to see that their electric versatile attacker wasn’t being given a couple of weeks off. Fans can see the full list of who they’ve got going out on international duty on the Tottenham website, but the only name that really catches the eye is Son given how little time off he’s had.

Son played right up until the end of the 2017/18 season before featuring in all of his country’s three World Cup fixtures in the group stages. The South Koreans didn’t get out of the group, though, and Son returned to pre-season with Tottenham. He featured in the club’s opener against Newcastle as a substitute but then was whisked away to compete for his nation’s U23s in the Asian Games. After the winning the gold it seemed he might get some time off, but that simply hasn’t happened.
