Tottenham fans have had it extremely rough in terms of transfers over the last 12 months. That is purely because they simply haven’t had any incomings, yet now, it looks like this summer will be the one where the Lilywhites splurge, and what better place to start than resigning Gareth Bale, who has recently opened up on his time at Tottenham.
Gareth Bale admits he did not realise how big Tottenham Hotspur were as a club until he joined:
“I went to the stadium and the training ground and they talk to you and show you the history.”

The Welshman’s interview was a revealing one. Bale revealed that he used to love watching Arsenal because of the brilliance of both Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp and also claimed that he didn’t realise how big of a club Tottenham were until he signed for them. Those comments, the Spurs one, not the Arsenal ones, are what have prompted a lot of Lilywhites to call for his return.
Injury issues have plagued Bale since he became a Galactico, and whilst it may be hard for him to move anywhere and leave Los Blancos given the pay cut he’d likely be facing with an exit. Tottenham supporters, though, would do anything to get the Welshman back in North London for their first full season in their new stadium, and nothing would be more poetic than Bale returning home to spur them onto silverware.
