Tottenham fans and new signings don’t normally go together, but if they did, someone of Douglas Costa’s quality is what the fans would want to see. It may be a long shot, but Tuttosport have linked the Lilywhites with a move for the Brazilian, and with summer signings surely a must, it could be on the cards.

Tottenham are one of five clubs who hold an interest in the Brazilian. Alongside Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy who are vying for his signature, the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Inter Milan and PSG are all eyeing the winger up. It will come as no surprise to hear that the London club can’t compete with any of those four financially, but the Lilywhites will be holding out some hope.
The attraction of playing for a club like Tottenham isn’t in the money. Having the opportunity to play in their new stadium – which officially opened last night – and develop under the tutelage of Pochettino are the main pulling points, and it remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old would be keen to make the switch. If he does, it’s a clear jump in quality from what they already have, and he’d go down a treat with the fans.
