Tottenham: Fans praise ‘brilliant’ Lucas Moura after defeat to Liverpool

Tottenham fans have praised the performance of winger Lucas Moura after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday evening.

A goal from Roberto Firmino ensured that the visitors took all three points back to Merseyside and extended Spurs’ winless run in all competitions to four games, as per Fotmob.

Moura played the full 90 minutes but was unable to conjure up any major opportunities for his side, despite his contributions. He became a cult hero for Spurs after his late winner during his team’s 3-2 win against Ajax in last season’s Champions League semi-final. His teammate Christian Eriksen suggested that he deserves his own statue, as per Goal (via Sporting News).

Sofascore recorded that he made three successful dribbles, made three key passes and had a pass success rate of 87%. This backed up the statements from fans below that Moura is “never one to shy away” and that he “always gives his all”.

The Brazilian made hints that his traits were wasted under the previous manager Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked in November, as per the Metro.

Irritates me the slander he gets. He can be frustrating I understand that, but he’s always looking to get forward, deserves more respect, I’m not for slandering players but I don’t see the same energy for Alli who in my opinion hasn’t been great for weeks now.
