Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has agreed a deal to join Real Madrid for free next summer, according to EldesMarque.
The 27-year-old’s contract expires next year and he was heavily linked with a move to both Madrid and Manchester United in the summer.
Eriksen has endured a frustrating start to the season, starting in eight of his 16 appearances thus far, scoring just twice for Spurs.
He’s been left on the bench in both of Jose Mourinho’s opening games as boss, preferring a combination of Lucas Moura, Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son behind striker Harry Kane.
If Eriksen were to join Madrid, he’d face stiff competition for places, with the likes of Isco, Marco Asensio and James Rodriguez all in the same position as the Danish international.
He’s one of a number of first-team players with contract issues at Spurs, with Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld also not signing extensions at this stage.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the Eriksen news:
Ok don’t play him ever again like what we did with walker, he wants to go, do let him. While he’s still with us let him go play with the u23 but I don’t reckon he’ll get in over skipp
