Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino had refused to resign from his role at the club before being sacked, according to Football FanCast.

Despite reaching the Champions League final last season, Pochettino has found himself under huge pressure after a slow start to the season and Jose Mourinho has now arrived.
Spurs sit 14th in the Premier League table, already 11 points off the top four, and have suffered crushing defeats across a range of competitions.
Pochettino’s men were beaten 7-2 at home by Bayern Munich in the Champions League and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Colchester United.
The Telegraph reported prior to the managerial change that, if Pochettino was sacked by Spurs, they’d have to pay him £12.5 million under the terms of his contract.
A number of senior players are currently going through contract disputes with the club; Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen are all seemingly unwilling to extend their deals in North London.
It’s the latest event in a season of turmoil at Spurs, here’s how some of their fans reacted to the news:
In other words he wants his £12.5 million. Doesn’t matter how bad the results get #THFC

Is that because he loves the club or he loves the money? 🤔

Why would he? Let them fire him. He will get a huge severance check and get the choice of his next job.

Ironic players are giving us grief because they are out of contract and we can’t sack Poch because he has a long term contract.
