As soon as the managerial vacancy opened up at Manchester United it was always going to be inevitable that Mauricio Pochettino would be closely linked with the job. However, a lot of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in complete faith that their gaffer will be staying put, despite the lure from Old Trafford.
Ever since he arrived at White Hart Lane back in 2014 Mauricio Pochettino has shown his class all the way through. Not one Tottenham fan would rather have any other manager leading them from White Hart Lane to Wembley to the new stadium, and so far the ex-Southampton and Espanyol manager has done a sublime job, so you can understand the Lilywhites’ anger at the Pochettino links.
Arguably, of all the stars at Tottenham Hotspur at the moment, Mauricio Pochettino is the most valuable. It’s always the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen who are touted with big money moves, but without Poch the Tottenham project falls apart, and the fans know it. It’s no surprise that United want the Tottenham man, and it’s even less of a surprise that the Lilywhites are prepared to fight tooth and nail to keep him.
