Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with pretty much every striker under the sun in the last few years, however, this particular story is the icing on the cake for Tottenham fans. According to The Sun, the Lilywhites are lining up a £2 million move for Andy Carroll, who could be allowed to leave West Ham if Marko Arnautovic stays.
[@SunSport] now understand West Ham’s Andy Carroll has emerged as a shock transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur.
A potential £2M deal for Carroll will rest on whether West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini reckons he needs the striker to cover for forward Marko Arnautovic.#THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/qNRsIT7jNs

As far as ridiculous transfer stories go, this one is right up there. Tottenham Hotspur have become a club who have put a massive emphasis on promoting and signing young players to develop. However, Andy Carroll is far from young. The striker is 30-years-old now and struggles to keep himself fit on a week-by-week basis, which makes this transfer rumour even more ludicrous.
It was around this time last season that Chelsea were linked frantically with almost every target man in the country, and this time it looks like Spurs will be the same. However, the Lilywhites would much rather have a window where they go away empty-handed than bring in a player like the injury-prone Andy Carroll, especially seeing as he’s scored just four goals since the 2016/17 season.

That is the best one yet, that’s up there with Rossi. We have an injury crisis, so who do we get ‘linked’ with, Andy Carroll he missed a game earlier in the season with the official reason listed as ‘a sprained thought’ . Ridiculous rumour. Sturridge on loan is next.

This is ridiculous. He’s played like 2 games in 5 years. Parrot plays before we sign Carroll.

I'm just going to pretend I didn't hear that.

Never in a million years! Llorente is twice the player Carroll is! At least he’s earning an honest wage not stealing it

The Lilywhites would be livid if their side signed Andy Carroll and would rather the window ended now if he;s the best they’ll get.
