Tottenham Hotspur: Alasdair Gold predicts four changes and formation revamp

Alasdair Gold has predicted as many as four changes made to the starting eleven for Tottenham Hotspur in their game versus Chelsea in the Premier League.

Writing in his latest piece for football.london, the Spurs journalist thinks that Davinson Sanchez, Moussa Sissoko, Gareth Bale and Steven Bergwijn will make way in the starting line-up that played against Brighton and Hove Albion for Serge Aurier, Harry Winks, Erik Lamela and Carlos Vinicius.

Having started with a 3-4-2-1 formation (Sofascore) in the 1-0 away loss against the Seagulls as well, Gold also thinks that Jose Mourinho will go back to a 4-2-3-1 set-up to start with against Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Spurs changes needed

The Lilywhites no doubt have to make changes following their disappointing defeat at the hands of Graham Potter’s men.

By possibly sacrificing Davinson Sanchez, currently valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, the North London club can play with an extra attacking player on the field and thus pose more of a goal threat to the Stamford Bridge faithful.

Carlos Vinicius may be extra motivated to start the game as well following the injury to Harry Kane, and so may be well up for a match against their bitter rivals.
