Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have been calling for Erik Lamela to be included in Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up for their Premier League game against Chelsea on Saturday.
The Argentinian international has recently recovered from injury and made a cameo appearance in their 1-0 defeat against RB Leipzig on Wednesday, replacing Dele Alli after 64 minutes (BBC Sport). Mourinho was happy with the impact that the former Roma man made in the game, claiming he was “phenomenal” whilst also confirming that he hadn’t even trained prior to the match (beIN Sports).
The north London club are certainly in need of an attacking player to step up to the plate after Son Heung-min was ruled out for a lengthy spell this week with a fractured arm (BBC Sport), he now joins talismanic striker Harry Kane on the sidelines.
It seems that plenty of Spurs fans feel that Lamela could be that man, with loads now hoping that he starts their next game against the Blues. Indeed, many have taken to Twitter to urge Mourinho to play the Argentine, with one even suggesting that he would “offer more than Lucas.”
