Tottenham’s 2-1 victory over Wolves proved that Jose Mourinho hasn’t got an easy job on his hands to get the squad to title-challenging standard. However, he’ll pick up a boost in the next few weeks with Erik Lamela set to return to the team after two months on the sidelines.

Mourinho revealed the Argentine is due to return around December 28 or January 1. He then went on to praise the forward, who’s had difficulty solidifying his place in the starting 11 since joining Spurs in 2014, through injury and inconsistent form. Last season he made just nine starts, and came off the bench twice, resulting in him bagging four goals and two assists.
Some fans clearly see potential in the 27-year-old and are looking forward to seeing how he might play under the new manager. However, others can’t see him improving and don’t believe Mourinho will be as complimentary when he does see him play. Mourinho’s quotes were posted to Twitter by Spurs news aggregator Daily Spurs, and fans replied with split opinions on what they think of Lamela.
