Alasdair Gold has shared his thoughts on what comes next in Daniel Levy’s time in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, via football.london.
The Spurs correspondent noted that, although Levy’s reign already has lasted for 20 years, there are still plenty of questions remaining about what fans should expect in the years to come.
Although Gold admitted a potential takeover is something that has loomed over the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent years, the chairman does not plan to sell the Lilywhites in the foreseeable future.

He wrote: “something else that has long circled around the club is the prospect of a takeover.
“Rarely a month goes each year by without an NFL franchise owner or a global giant of a company being linked with buying out ENIC in the latest WhatsApp or Facebook circular that does the rounds, often originating on April Fool’s Day.
“In March, Levy made it clear that there was no intention to sell the club when asked at a meeting with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust.”
However, the journalist added “whether the financial impact of the coronavirus since has some influence on that decision going forward will be determined in the months ahead.”
As football around the world is suspended due to the ongoing pandemic, clubs face growing economic uncertainty, as Rick Parry revealed EFL sides could lose £200m by September (BBC Sport). It remains to be seen if this financial pressure will have an impact on Levy’s long-term plans in North London.
Naturally, several Spurs fans discussed Gold’s takeover update on social media, with one fan tweeting “ENIC out,” and another adding “it’s time for him to go” in reference to Levy.
