Tottenham Hotspur: Fans discuss Mauricio Pochettino news

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have discussed the latest news regarding their former manager Mauricio Pochettino after the Daily Telegraph reported that the north London club have opened talks with the 48-year-old over a reduction in salary payments owed to him.

According to the article, the Argentine is still in the process of being paid the rest of his £8.5 million salary after his break in management having been sacked in November of last year.

Spurs are believed to want to reduce the amount in payments that they owe him due to the global pandemic which has hit the footballing world financially.

Indeed, Daniel Levy did reverse THFC’s decision to furlough non-playing staff, but has still highlighted the financial pressures that Tottenham face as they are unable to host events that might have been previously scheduled.

As per the Telegraph, the chairman has looked at budgets and cost-cutting, and the club’s board has taken on reductions in their own salaries amidst talks over the structure of Pochettino’s payment.
