Loads of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left furious after it was reported that manager Jose Mourinho has asked the board whether they should prioritise their Premier League clash against Burnley or their Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig.
According to BBC Radio London reporter Nick Godwin, the Portuguese manager made the admission before suggesting that they cannot prioritise both games, despite them being important for different reasons.
Indeed they are still in with a shot at finishing in the Premier League’s top five which would mean Champions League qualification for next season due to Manchester City’s ban (BBC Sport), whilst they are only 1-0 down against Leipzig after the first leg of their last-16 European tie (BBC Sport).

It is likely that Mourinho feels that they cannot go full tilt at both matches due to their injury problems, with each of Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min currently sidelined (Transfermarkt).
Many Spurs fans have been reacting to Mourinho’s comments, with many fuming about what they perceive as his negative attitude with one even suggesting he has a “pub league mentality.”
Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
His negativity is spreading through the club like a virus. Didn’t take long for the ‘full of energy’ and ‘revitalised’ Jose to turn back into his old self did it.
