Tottenham Hotspur: Fans fuming with reported summer transfer budget

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho will only have a transfer budget of £50 million this summer if his team fail to qualify for the Champions League, that is according to a report from The Telegraph.

However, he could increase that if he raises funds by selling players in his squad – with Harry Kane potentially one of those as the report suggests that he may consider his future at the club in the off-season.

Given that Spurs are currently five points adrift of the top four (BBC Sport) and behind in their Champions League last-16 tie against RB Leipzig (BBC Sport), qualification for Europe’s elite club competition next season isn’t looking likely at the moment.

A £50 million budget is not much at all in the current market and would surely not be enough to make the necessary improvements to the squad in order to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
