Loads of Tottenham Hotspur fans have slammed their former manager Tim Sherwood for his comments about Jose Mourinho after their 2-1 defeat against Chelsea at the weekend.
The north London side were far from at their best and with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min both out injured, a defensive 5-4-1 formation was deployed to try and get a result (Transfermarkt). Sherwood was not happy at all with how Spurs approached the game and was heavily critical of the Portuguese for the performance that the team produced at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to Premier League Productions (via the Sun), Sherwood said: “Tottenham were absolutely disgusting. They were so bad. The negative approach.
“You have to find a different way. As a coach sometimes you can’t say ‘oh we don’t have a striker’ and throw the towel in. If you said to Jose beforehand: ‘Would you take a 0-0?’ he would have taken your arms off.”
Plenty of Spurs fans have been responding to what Sherwood has had to say, with many suggesting that he needs to pipe down, pointing to the fact that Mourinho has achieved far more than he has in management.
