Tottenham Hotspur: Fans gush over Danny Rose’s view on Mousa Dembele

Danny Rose has admitted former Tottenham Hotspur star Mousa Dembele is the best player he has played with, in a video posted by @thespursweb.

Speaking during a fan Q&A on Instagram live, Rose went on to talk about a number of different topics, including life under lockdown, as well as his thoughts on the plans to resume the Premier League season (known as ‘Project Restart’).

When asked to name his best teammate so far, the 29-year-old said “nah, Mousa Dembele is the best, like ever. It’s like ridiculous.”

He added “it’s hard to explain but he’s the best.”

After arriving at White Hart Lane from Fulham for £17.1m back in 2012, Dembele made over 240 appearances for Spurs, scoring 10 goals and creating 12 assists in all competitions. He also won the Eredivisie with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar and his market value is estimated at just £3.15m via Transfermarkt.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear Rose isn’t a part of his future plans and he joined Newcastle United on loan in January. Magpies boss Steve Bruce is keen to keep him at St James’ Park, and, given the fact his contract is set to expire next season, it looks like he could be heading out the door in the summer.

Unsurprisingly, loads of Spurs fans gushed over the defender’s view on social media, with one fan tweeting “Dembele was mustard,” and another adding the Belgian was “underrated.”
