Loads of Tottenham Hotspur supporters are loving the news that Spurs are monitoring Konstantinos Tsimikas, according to a report from SDNA.
The Greek outlet claims chairman Daniel Levy faces stiff competition from English rivals Arsenal, Leicester and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, as well as Italian clubs Inter Milan and Napoli, for the 23-year-old defender.
Tsimikas has impressed on the left flank for Olympiacos FC in recent years, and it is hardly surprising he has garnered plenty of attention from leading European giants ahead of the summer transfer window. The young left-back has made 6 appearances in the Champions League for the Red-Whites this term, averaging at least 2.8 tackles per game, making 2 interceptions on average, and completing 3.5 clearances in the elite competition (WhoScored).
Jose Mourinho has made it very clear that Danny Rose is surplus to requirements, with the 29-year-old spending a spell on loan at Newcastle United, and Magpies boss Steve Bruce indicated last month he is keen to sign the veteran on a permanent basis (Northern Echo).
Therefore, the London club are desperate to add a suitable replacement to their defence, and the Greek international would make a shrewd investment for the future. His current market value is estimated at just £3.15m but he is expected to cost roughly £22m.
Popular fan page TranSPURS shared the latest transfer update on Twitter, and naturally many fans tweeted their opinions, with one dubbing Tsimikas as a “fantastic talent.” Another simply commented “this guy is quality.”
