Tottenham Hotspur: Fans gutted as Moussa Sissoko is ruled out until April

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Moussa Sissoko has undergone surgery to the medial collateral ligament in his right knee (via tottenhamhotspur.com).

The Frenchman picked up the injury in Spurs’ New Year’s Day defeat against Southampton and therefore missed their FA Cup draw against Middlesbrough at the weekend.

The club’s medical staff will now monitor the midfielder’s rehabilitation, but they have confirmed that he isn’t expected to be back in training until early April which is a huge blow.

Indeed Sissoko has been a regular for the north London outfit this season, starting in 19 of their first 21 Premier League matches and scoring two goals in that time (Transfermarkt).

Naturally most Spurs fans are absolutely gutted that one of their key players is set to be missing for a large chunk of the season, with some suggesting that Daniel Levy must now act and make a signing in the January transfer window.

Here is how some have reacted to the news on Twitter…
