Tottenham Hotspur fans have been expressing their disbelief at reports concerning Real Madrid central defender Raphael Varane.

According to El Des Marque, the Lilywhites are eyeing a move for the France international defender ahead of a potential transfer in the January window.
It is being reported by the Spanish publication that manager Jose Mourinho has ‘requested’ an offer be made for the 26-year-old.
Varane is said to be at the top of a list collated by the north London outfit with the Lilywhites ready to offer €80m (roughly £68m) for the player, a bid which isn’t thought to be enough to persuade Los Blancos into selling him.
The news comes amid the contract extension of Belgium international Toby Alderweireld, who has signed a new deal up until 2023.
Fans aren’t feeling hopeful over a deal for the La Liga ace as they took to Twitter to react to the news.
