Tottenham Hotspur fans were left lauding Paulo Gazzaniga after his display in the 2-1 loss to Liverpool yesterday.
The £1.8m-rated Argentine goalkeeper made a mammoth 12 saves in the Premier League fixture, a record amount in a game this season (via Last Word On Spurs).
Gazzaniga has been deputising for Hugo Lloris after the Frenchman sustained a freak injury in the 3-0 loss away to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Opposing manager Jurgen Klopp lavished the ‘keeper with praise, claiming he had a ‘proper game’ against his Liverpool side (BBC Radio 5 Live via football.london).
The loss leaves the Lilywhites languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, and with just one league win in their last five games (via WhoScored).
Gazzaniga put in a brilliant display in the loss to the Merseysiders, with fans laying praise on the 27-year-old ‘keeper as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Spurs fans:
Is the 12 saves a record in one game you mean? That’s impressive. Also doesn’t look good for the defense. ☺

Would of had an assist if Sonny effort that hit the bar went it too. I like that he mixes up his distribution. We’re good when he hits it long.

I’m on the top right photo
Outstanding performance
Distribution was confident and effective – pass to Sonny in second half being the best

Played well, as he usually does when he gets a game. Never lets anyone down, but however we’ll he plays Poch will drop him as soon a Lloris is fit.
