Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are panicking after a ‘sickening’ report from El Chiringuito (via Ricky Sacks) claims that Real Madrid have held negotiations with Mauricio Pochettino and may be interested in a move for Harry Kane if the Argentine joins.
Kane would be a big loss to Spurs given his goal-scoring record, where he has netted 181 times in 278 games for the north London club in all competitions (via Transfermarkt). Still, English players have swapped English football for the Bernabeu before, including the likes of David Beckham, Michael Owen and Steve McManaman and this has been a poor season for the Lillywhites.
A perhaps added blow for Spurs fans would be if their former manager replaced Zinedine Zidane in the Spanish capital, having guided them to the Champions League final last season.
