Tottenham Hotspur: Fans praise Oliver Skipp for display against Norwich City

Tottenham Hotspur crashed out of the FA Cup on Wednesday, losing 3-2 on penalties in their fifth round clash against Norwich City after initially drawing the game 1-1 (BBC Sport).

It was therefore a disappointing evening for everyone connected with Spurs, with many of their players struggling. However, one man did come away from the game with some credit and that was young midfielder Oliver Skipp.

The 19-year-old academy product played all 120 minutes of the match (Transfermarkt) and was lauded by Jose Mourinho afterwards, who described his performance as “phenomenal,” (@CDEccleshare).

To be fair to Skipp, the stats suggest he did indeed play well against the Canaries. He won five ground duels and three tackles, made two interceptions and one clearance in the game, whilst also playing one key pass, finishing with an impressive passing accuracy of 91% and losing possession just seven times in 120 minutes (SofaScore).
