Tottenham Hotspur: Fans rage at club’s ‘refocus’ tweet

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are raging at the club for tweeting that they need to ‘refocus’ on their official Twitter page ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Burnley.

Spurs fans are seemingly still bitter at their recent run of results. They have not won a game in all competitions since the 3-2 Premier League victory away at Aston Villa on the 16th February, in which they had to rely on a last-minute winner from now injured Heung-Min Son (via BBC). Since then, they have lost to Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Wolverhampton Wanderers and most recently Norwich City on penalties in the FA Cup.

They face a Burnley team at Turf Moor who have been steady under Sean Dyche this season, and a win for the Clarets would place them above the north London club in the table. Arch rivals Arsenal are also hot on their tails having seen improved results under Mikel Arteta and they are just three points behind Tottenham with a game in hand, although that game is away at Premier League champions Manchester City this Wednesday. After losing on penalties and the Eric Dier incident that followed after, it is arguable that the whole club, including the players and the manager, need to ‘refocus’ to bounce back to winning ways.

These Spurs fans expressed their rage on Twitter, with comments of alternative words to ‘refocus’, claiming the team need to ‘wake up’, ‘rebuild’ and ‘reset’. These were the most passionate tweets:
