Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a transfer with AC Milan for striker Krzysztof Piatek worth £28 million, that is according to The Sun journalist Duncan Wright.
It suggests that the Polish international will have a medical in the next 48 hours before signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with Spurs. The club will pay £23.8 million upfront for the player, with a further £4.2 million set to come in add-ons.
The north London outfit have been forced to accelerate plans of signing a new striker in the current transfer window after suffering a major injury blow. Indeed, star man Harry Kane has been ruled out until at least April after picking up a hamstring injury which requires surgery (tottenhamhotspur.com).
Piatek’s form hasn’t been too great this season, indeed he has managed to score just four goals in 18 Serie A appearances (Transfermarkt). However, he did enjoy a fruitful 18/19 campaign in which he bagged 30 times in 42 combined appearances for AC Milan and Genoa (Transfermarkt) so he certainly has pedigree.
However, it seems that many Spurs fans aren’t convinced by the Pole. They believe that he isn’t good enough for what they want to achieve with some even suggesting he could be the next Roberto Soldado, who scored just seven Premier League goals in 52 appearances (Transfermarkt).
