Celtic have made a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Jack Clarke on loan this month, that is according to a report from Football Insider.
The youngster joined Spurs from Leeds United in the summer before returning to West Yorkshire on loan. However, he barely featured under Marcelo Bielsa this season and made just one substitute appearance in the Championship for the Whites (Transfermarkt).
He was subsequently recalled by Tottenham due to his lack of game time, but the report suggests that Jose Mourinho feels that another loan move where he will get regular game time is the best thing for his development. The Bhoys could face competition for the 19-year-old’s signature however, with a host of Championship clubs including Derby County, QPR and Millwall also thought to be interesting in taking him on loan according to the report.
One thing is for sure though, many Spurs fans believe that going to Celtic temporarily would be a good move for Clarke just as long as he gets plenty of game time whilst in Glasgow. Here is how some reacted on Twitter after seeing the transfer link…
We could do a lot worse than sending him into a title race where he’d be a part of a team that wins things
