Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele could be closing in on a return to action after he was pictured back in first-team training prior to their Premier League fixture against Norwich City (via @JamesBurf).
The French international joined Spurs from Lyon for a club record fee of £53.8 million last summer (BBC Sport), but he has failed to make too much of an impact in his first few months at the north London club.
That has largely been down to a succession of injury problems which have caused him to miss games. Indeed he has so far managed to start just 10 Premier League matches this term and in all competitions he has completed 90 minutes on just five occasions (Transfermarkt).
There is no doubt that Tottenham could do with him being fully fit as soon as possible. They have won just one of the four matches he has missed with the groin problem he has been struggling with recently and that was an FA Cup replay against Championship outfit Middlesbrough (Transfermarkt).
Naturally, plenty of fans are delighted to see that the France international is closing in on a return, with many hoping that he can put the injuries behind him and have a prolonged spell in the first team. Here is how some reacted on Twitter to seeing Ndombele in training…
Huge boost at a vital time! Let’s hope Ndombele can stay fit, he’s got the potential to be one hell of a player! https://t.co/CcuOiTtWAD
