Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react as Troy Parrott signs new contract

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that young striker Troy Parrott has officially signed a new contract with the club, which will run until the summer of 2023 (via tottenhamhotspur.com).

The 18-year-old is an academy graduate at Spurs and he has made two appearances for the first team this season. He started in their EFL Cup tie against Colchester United back in August, whilst Jose Mourinho gave him his Premier League debut in December with a five-minute cameo against Burnley (Transfermarkt).

He has been in great form for Tottenham’s youth team this season, scoring six times in four UEFA Youth League appearances as well as netting twice in the Premier League 2 and twice in the FA Youth Cup (Transfermarkt). His goal record even caught the eye of Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy, who gave him his international debut in a friendly against New Zealand back in November (Transfermarkt).

Parrott is certainly a hot prospect and naturally many Spurs fans are absolutely delighted that he has committed his immediate future to the club. In fact, several actually suggested that he should now be given more of a chance in the first team having signed a new deal.
