Tottenham Hotspur have announced that young goalkeeper Brandon Austin has signed a new deal with the club (tottenhamhotspur.com).
The 20-year-old academy graduate is now contracted to Spurs until 2022 and becomes the first player to win a new deal in the Jose Mourinho era.
Austin is yet to make his debut for the north London club but, with Hugo Lloris injured, he has been on the substitutes bench for four Premier League matches and one Champions League fixture this season (Transfermarkt).
He has, though, played three times for the club’s development team in the Premier League 2, including against Liverpool’s youngsters where he kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 win (Transfermarkt).
Added to that, he has also earned his first call-up to the England under-21s this term and was in the squad for their October and November fixtures (tottenhamhotspur.com).
