Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek in the January transfer window, that is according to a report from The Guardian.

It is suggested that the Italian club are prepared to offload the 24-year-old if they can recoup the £30 million they paid Genoa for him last year, following the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
However, paying such a fee is unlikely to appeal to Spurs who would favour a loan move as they seek some short term cover for Harry Kane who is currently out with a hamstring injury (BBC Sport).
Piatek enjoyed a fantastic 18/19 campaign in which he scored 30 goals in 42 games for Genoa and AC Milan combined (Transfermarkt). However, this season has been more of a struggle for the Polish international and he has only managed to bag four times in 18 appearances (Transfermarkt).
It seems that the forward would not be a popular signing amongst some of the Spurs fanbase, perhaps due to his poor record in front of goal this season.
Many have taken to Twitter to suggest that the Pole would flop if they did bring him in. Here is what some had to say…
No. Just no. I’d rather have that diver Niezgoda.

I never trust purchasing attackers from Serie A due to the massive change of pace between the leagues, aside from Salah who already had lremier league experience its hard to think of too many players from Serie A and hit the ground running in the Prem its a no from me #COYS

I feel like he would flop in the Prem

He is a decent finisher but that’s about all. We need a more Kane-like player. Mitrovic makes more sense. Prem experience, holds the ball up well, links up well with others, and he can score. Both are still young.
