Tottenham Hotspur are fighting to sign Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi in the summer, that is according to a report from Fotomac (via Ricky Sacks).
It is suggested that the Turkish outfit value the 25-year-old at €20 million (£17.6 million) and that Spurs actually spent lots of time during the January transfer window scouting him, but never submitted a formal offer at the time.
The Kosovo international has been in great form during the 2019/20 campaign and certainly knows where the back of the net is. Indeed he has scored 15 times in just 28 appearances in all competitions for Fenerbahce, whilst also chipping in with six assists too (Transfermarkt).
Added to that, his recent form for the Kosovan national team has also been strong, netting in each of his last four appearances for them including once against England and also providing two assists (Transfermarkt).
Spurs are a little short in the striking department and don’t have a natural back-up option for Harry Kane, so signing Muriqi could prove good business. It seems that plenty of fans would love to see him join the club, with one even suggesting he could be ‘Diego Costa 2.0‘ for Jose Mourinho – the duo of course worked together at Chelsea and the Spanish striker was prolific under him, netting 24 goals in 57 games (Transfermarkt).

As a back-up sure. Still would prefer a better player that could start with Kane in some games, replace him in others and even give him a push if he is in a dip in form but no way Levy pays for that.
He is better than the nothing we currently have in the back-up striker role
