Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans are reminiscing about a goal scored by Gareth Bale, with one supporter even claiming that it was ‘better than Di Canio’.
The Welsh international struck a sweet volley into the far top corner after good play from Aaron Lennon to sink Stoke as footage was posted by The Spurs Web on Twitter.
Spurs won the game away from home 2-1 in the Premier League back in 2010 as the Welsh international scored a brace as Ricardo Fuller struck for the Potters, according to Sky Sports.
Those two strikes from Bale were part of an eleven-goal haul in all competitions for that season, which also included eleven assists in 41 appearances, as per Transfermarkt. Incidentally, the 30-year old played mostly on the left side of midfield in that campaign, with even a few matches at left-back.
He is now widely known to play as a winger for Real Madrid where he can cut in on his left foot, as he has played 172 times for Los Blancos there, according to Transfermarkt.
These supporters showed their love for Bale’s volley on Twitter:
