Tottenham Hotspur fans are in shock after watching a video of the incident that saw young striker Troy Parrott get a red card for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s.
The 18-year-old was sent off after a scuffle with Everton and Italy Under-21 international Moise Kean (via Twitter).
Parrott was making just his third appearance for the Irish U21 side last night and has scored three goals in those games (via Transfermarkt).
The youth player made his Spurs debut earlier on in the season, playing 66 minutes in the Carabao Cup defeat away to League Two side Colchester United in September.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised the young striker this season, however, urged all to be relaxed over his progress (via talkSPORT).
After watching the video of the scuffle between the two players, Spurs fans couldn’t believe Parrott received a red card as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Tottenham faithful:
This is almost as bad as when Dier got a yellow for scoring at the Emirates.
