Tottenham Hotspur made an offer for winger Thomas Lemar which was outright rejected by Atletico Madrid, that is according to a report from AS via Ricky Sacks.
It suggests that the Spanish club have informed Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that the bid made for the French international is nowhere near their valuation of the player. Lemar joined Atleti from Monaco in the summer of 2018 for a fee of £63 million according to Transfermarkt, but he has been out of favour at the Wanda Metropolitano this season, starting just nine of their 19 La Liga fixtures so far (Transfermarkt).
As a result, there have been question marks about his future at the club and recently manager Diego Simeone refused to rule out the possibility of letting him leave in the January transfer window (Mirror). Spurs have been one of the clubs linked with him, along with fellow north London outfit Arsenal (ESPN). But it appears that he won’t be joining Jose Mourinho’s side following the reported low offer.
Plenty of Tottenham fans have been reacting to the news that Atletico have apparently rejected their offer for Lemar, with many slamming Levy for the way he is handling transfers at the club. Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
Typical Levy!

Daniel Levy: I’ll give you £5 mil now and we’ll do the rest in 30-year payment plans without interest.
