Tottenham Hotspur: Fans slam Tony Cascarino for his Jose Mourinho comments

Loads of Tottenham Hotspur fans have slammed pundit Tony Cascarino for his recent comments about their manager, Jose Mourinho.

The former Aston Villa and Chelsea striker has been heavily critical of the Portuguese following Spurs’ 1-0 defeat against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Speaking on the White and Sawyer show on talkSPORT, Cascarino suggested that Mourinho offered “very little in tactics” against the Bundesliga outfit and that he has been “left behind.”

In fairness to Cascarino, Spurs were not great against Leipzig and were it not for the heroics of Hugo Lloris (BT Sport), they could be heading to the Red Bull Arena more than one goal down. However, it also must be considered that the north London club were without star striker Harry Kane who is out until April (tottenhamhotspur.com) and their other key forward player Son Heung-min who picked up a fractured arm against Aston Villa and has also been sidelined for a while (BBC Sport).

Added to that when the ex-Real Madrid boss took over, Tottenham were 14th in the Premier League and 11 points adrift of the top four (Evening Standard). They are now up in fifth place, just one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea (BBC Sport).
