Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans are split on whether Issa Diop would be a good signing for them after TEAMtalk (relayed by TranSPURS) reported that the West Ham United central defender has told the Hammers that he wants to leave.
According to the reports, Spurs were interested in a move for the 23-year old in the January transfer window, but West Ham did not want to sell him when they were so close to relegation.
The Metro reported that the London club value Diop at £60 million, so Tottenham would likely have to pay around that figure if they want to prize him away from them, but would face competition from both Arsenal and Manchester United for his signature.
Comparing Diop to the central defenders at the Lilywhites in the Premier League this season, the Frenchman has averaged more interceptions and clearances and has been dribbled past less than Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, according to WhoScored.
These supporters are split on the potential incoming of Diop in the summer:
This would be a class signing. Young, strong, knows the premier league

I bought it’ll happen. I’d be staggered if West Ham weren’t looking for at least £60-70m for him. With FFP regulations, we need to reserve our transfer budget for the priority positions.
