Earlier this week, The Sun reported that there was unrest amongst the players at Tottenham Hotspur.
It was suggested that several Spurs stars were dismayed at what the report described as “old school tactics” and “uninspiring training sessions” under the management of Jose Mourinho. Added to that, it said that some senior players believed that the team were regressing under the Portuguese, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino earlier in the campaign.
However, centre-back Toby Alderweireld has been speaking about the report and insists that it couldn’t be further from the truth. Speaking to the Evening Standard, the Belgian said: “For me, it’s nothing like that. If it was like this, I wouldn’t sign a new deal. Now, for me, it’s all positive.”
Interestingly though, the ex-Ajax defender also hinted that a disgruntled Spurs player could be behind the claims of dressing room unrest at the north London club. He continued: “I don’t know where that’s come from. Maybe there’s a player that’s not happy and maybe he wants to say something?”
After seeing Alderweireld claim that a player would be behind the reports, many Spurs fans were quick to try and identify who it was. And it seems that most believe that the person responsible is Danny Rose, who reportedly had a disagreement with Mourinho last week (Daily Mail).
Indeed many have taken to Twitter to name Rose as the culprit. Here is what some had to say…
That’ll be Danny Rose then 🤷🏼♂️😂

Toby selling out rose publicly shows how the team is fed up of rose antics and he needs to be sold ASAP. Cannot afford to have players disrupting the dressing room in this day and age.
