Tottenham Hotspur fans were thrilled after the final whistle of their 5-0 hammering of Red Star Belgrade as the Lilywhites ended a bad run of form.
Before last night’s game, Spurs had only won one of their seven fixtures, a 2-1 victory over Southampton in the Premier League.
The run included a 7-2 thrashing at home to Bayern Munich followed by a 3-0 loss away to Brighton and Hove Albion in the space of four days for the north London giants (via WhoScored)
However, two goals from Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, and his 32nd goal in his 200th appearance for Erik Lamela ensured Spurs returned to winning ways.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed the importance of yesterday’s victory for the confidence of his players with fixtures against Liverpool and Everton coming up (via BBC).
Fans seemed to be thrilled with the win over their Serbian counterparts as they took to Twitter to react.
